Two things I remember about John that stand out for me. He wanted to loose some weight, so he said he wasn't going to eat till he read the whole novel of (War and Peace) I never did find out if he made it? The other thing is he loved to recite the whole poem of Edgar Ellen Pole, (The Raven) he new it well from start to finish.

Whenever I hear the song ‘Teach Your Children’, by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young I think of John. I remember him singing harmony to the chorus.
