Well!!  That certainly was a marvelous 50th Reunion weekend!

New Class of 1966 Fund in Support of the Greater Denfeld Foundation

Dear Classmates: At the conclusion of our marvelous 50th Reunion there was encouragement by several to establish a special fund for our class for a lasting legacy. A committee was formed including Bill Westholm, John Center, Susan Holt Zeleznikar, Linda Ion Olson, Jerry Zanko, and Don Annala with support from Karen Anderson and Dave Coleman. Details are below. (dmc):

The Denfeld Class of 1966 has established a fund to support teachers and students who are currently attending or working at Denfeld. The fund is in conjunction with The Greater Denfeld Foundation but will be held as a separate fund.  A small committee has been working to set this up and we felt there is already significant money available for post graduate scholarships so our fund would instead focus on students and teachers in need of support currently at Denfeld.  Bill Westhom and Don Annula are currently on the Board of the Greater Denfeld Foundation.

The Denfeld class of 1966 Fund will be used for such things as activity fees, instrument rental, materials for class, programs to enhance the school experience, etc.  The purpose would be to enrich and expand the educational opportunities at Denfeld by supporting and funding projects, programs or activities that would otherwise not be available via normal district resources.  Current students and teachers would request grants from the fund via an application process.

In order to continue this fund we need contributions from you, the Class of 1966.  We have set a goal of raising $20,000. There is currently $2000 in the fund thanks to several of your classmates.  To support this fund you can send your Tax-deductible contributions to the Greater Denfeld Foundation (designated to Denfeld Class of 1966 in care of Claudia Anderson, Denfeld High School, 401 N 44th Ave W., Duluth Mn 55807).   Alternatively we have re-activated our ‘donation link’ on the right side of the website Homepage, so you can contribute easily with PayPal or a credit card of your choice.  Karen Anderson will facilitate the ‘banking.’  We thank you in advance for any and all contributions to help keep Denfeld the great school is was and is.
